This is an old sketch I had done to rough out a Christmas present for my mom. Not sure if it was from this past Christmas or the one before that. Decided I liked it enough to do something with.
Based on a story my mom had told me about coming home one day to find Charlie (Lineolated aka Barred Parakeet), one of her birds, in pretty much the same situation with a piece of string. Poor little bugger. He didn't get himself hurt, thank goodness, but was flustered no doubt. Charlie is quite the grumpy little man.
Not quite as funny as Kiwi, the other bird of hers (Green Cheek Conure), flying into the toilet. Not to worry, he didn't drown, but looked rather indignant about the experience. Suffice it to say all toilet seat lids are kept down to this day!

Birdie num num....

my kitten fell in the toilet once, and couldn't get out. Her meowing woke me up to save her :U (and give her a bath)

My little Arating (sun) gets himself into these same situations. Silly birds- they never learn do they?

I remember back when my Sun Conure would hang upside down in his cage and dance a bit. He would fly to the window blinds we have and chew them up. Sadly, he passed away sunday, we're all still trying to get over the suddenness but seeing things like this make me smile and remember.

Yes I had exactly the same situation. One of my birdys (see avatar) foud a piece of string in my flat.
They have a lot of freedom. XD
So they build their nest with this string and one day I came home from work one of them hung like this on a twig....
Poor little guy broke his leg... Its fully healed now, but since then its a little crooked.
Remind stings are REALLY dangerous for birds!!!

looks like the kind of character who would rather go "OMG this is fun" when he's in a dangerous situation...

Our bird does that from his perch, but for fun.
And he's named Charlie too!

That's so cute, I love parrots.
